Bit4id is currently providing the Italian Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato (IPZS) with modules and inlays. IPZS will use the inlays to produce ATE model electronic cards (dual-interface contact and contactless).
The ATe model is the official ID card for military personnel and public service employees. It is valid for 5 years and it is released and managed by the user’s membership administration.
The ATe model, as established by the article 66 of the Italian Law Decree No. 82/2005 (Digital Administration Code), is a contact smart card made of polycarbonate with all the functions of a National Service Card. It enables the user to access Public Administration online services, through a contact chip that exposes the interfaces specified by the National Service Card rules.
Bit4id is one of the main providers of the Institute for the segment “Documents and Security”.
