Bit4id attended Convergence, the first truly worldwide blockchain congress held from November 11-13, 2019 in Málaga

Organised by prominent stakeholders including the European Commission, the International Association of Trusted Blockchain Applications (INATBA), the EU Blockchain Observatory & Forum and Alastria, Convergence – The Global Blockchain Congress brought together approximately 1,500 participants, including key industries and representatives from across the globe. The first day was devoted to the Global Blockchain Challenge, a pioneering initiative around the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Paolo Campegiani, Innovation Strategist of Bit4id, was invited to talk in the panel ”Aligning Self-Sovereign and State Issued Identities”, in the afternoon of Tuesday, 12 November. Campegiani explained the strategic, technological and commercial opportunities provided by the CEN-CENELEC committee about blockchain and distributed ledger, that aims to define guidelines to obtain blockchain systems and distributed ledger in compliance with European Regulations such as GDPR, eIDAS, The Only Once Principle, the NIS directive.

The Congress explored convergent trends in blockchain technology, regulation and research as well as blockchain’s impact on the economy, business, and society as a whole.
