Last Saturday took place the first meetup about Python in Campania, organised by Python Italia in collaboration with different developer communities (as DevDay and GDG).

The event, sponsored by Bit4id, took place at the Riot Studio in Naples, a place to test and share new ideas.  Protagonist of the meeting: Python.

In a comfortable and informal context, many experts, IT lovers and simple visitors met to discuss about the most famous programming language in world.

Expert developers as Rino Ragucci, Vincenzo Santopietro and Patrick Arminio, Python Italia president, described Python endless potentialities to the participants with the following talks: “Introduction to Python”, “Tensorflow for OCR: from zero to the state of art”, “Django and Graphql”.

Despite being highly spread and used by developers all over the world, Python is still omitted in Italian universities and this is a big disadvantage for young IT students of our country who want to venture into the world of work.

For this reason, the decision of the Bocconi University to introduce Python in its IT courses, starting from the academic year 2017/2018, has been received with enthusiasm.

After the thematic talks and a speech by Bit4id – which besides sponsoring also participated in the event of Saturday 16 the discussion about Python did not end but became tastier: in Naples, the meeting could not end without a slice of pizza.

In this way an IT meetup becomes an occasion to be together, to share and to connect with other people. Who said programming can’t be fun?
